Financial Websites

In today’s information age, websites provide some of the most immediate and up to date information available. This is particularly important to professionals in business and finance due to the daily updates provided by stock exchanges around the world. This information can be critical to these businesspeople, whom make long lasting decisions regarding their businesses based on the data provided. Therefore, websites can make all the difference to businesses, their employees and their customers.

Yahoo Finance is an excellent source of information for publicly traded companies. Yahoo Finance provides a bevy of useful documents about these companies, particularly their financial reports. One can find Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Sheets on Yahoo Finance quite easily, and laid out in an intuitive format. This makes comparison between companies much easier and can help with investment decisions. Yahoo Finance also provides current market data, as well as company profiles, a list of major holders, insider transactions and competitors. This aids in company transparency for the investor to make sound investment decisions. Yahoo Finance is a resource that I plan on taking advantage of in the future.

Bloomberg is another resource that is particularly useful for the savvy investor. Bloomberg provides up to date market coverage and analysis, as well as news that may affect different markets. Bloomberg is not strictly limited to stocks. They provide information on everything from currency exchange rates, technology, politics, and business advice. All in all, Bloomberg is a resource that I will put to good use moving forward in my career.

In summation, websites such as Yahoo Finance and Bloomberg are incredibly powerful tools to smart investors. In order to become a smart investor myself, it would be unwise to not take advantage of such authoritative and easily available resources. Websites only serve to become even more potent in the future as the Internet grows and expands.
